Amice

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

Overview

Amice is a place to save the recommendations you love and share them with people you trust. This policy describes what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

If you have questions about anything below, email amice.app.support@gmail.com.

Information we collect

Information you provide

During signup, you confirm that you meet Amice's minimum age requirement. We do not collect or store your date of birth or age band.

Information we collect automatically

Information from links you save

When you save a link, the app fetches the page and extracts metadata (title, image, description, and structured fields like recipe ingredients) so we can display a clean card. We may use a generative AI model to interpret unstructured page content. We do not collect or store the page beyond what is needed to render your saved item.

How we use information

Privacy of folders and lists

Amice has both public and private folders. The privacy setting controls who can see what:

You can change a folder's privacy at any time.

Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with vendors who run the infrastructure Amice depends on, only to the extent each vendor needs to provide its service:

When you save a link, the link and the content of that page are processed by Google Vertex AI (Gemini) to classify it, and the resulting item may be enriched with public catalog data from TMDb, Google Books, Google Places / Maps, and a product-image search provider. These services receive only the shared link, or a query derived from it (such as a title, place name, or product name) — not your identity beyond what is needed to fulfill the request.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the safety of our users.

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account from Settings → Delete Account, we remove your profile, folders, lists, and saved items from our active systems. Some records (e.g. abuse logs, backups, legally required records) may persist for a limited period before being purged on a normal cycle.

Your rights and choices

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with comparable laws, you also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal bases for processing are performance of our contract with you, your consent (where applicable), and our legitimate interests in operating and improving Amice.

Children

Amice is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.

International transfers

Amice runs on Google Cloud and Firebase infrastructure. Your data may be processed in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Security

Connections to Amice use TLS, and Firestore and Cloud Storage access is gated by per-user security rules. We use Firebase App Check tokens to monitor app-origin signals while enforcement is being rolled out; App Check is not currently configured to reject every unverified request. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
